It happened tomorrow
Curation project and marketing
It happened tomorrow or “c'est arrivé demain” was a small exhibition showcasing artists sketchbooks revealing ideas that were never made and future works in progress. The name is based on the film of the same name, where a news journalist was given tomorrows newspaper, the works in the exhibition showcasing the same phenomena as the audience is given a glimpse into a private and usually unseen aspect of the artists thinking process with hidden ideas being revealed. The space allowed for a hands-on audience interaction where sketchbooks could be browsed. Labels from the works were removed, encouraging the audience to make links between ideas and real works.
Marketing for the exhibition featured the production of newspaper headlines that teased tomorrows news, referencing the origin of the title of the exhibition "it happened tomorrow". These were displayed as flyers which included information about the exhibition inside.
